Bhamakalapam

The script of this presentation has a variety of interpretations by different exponents. But the most important and familiar one is the script written by Sri Sidhendra Yogi. No chronological or time framed explanation about the different script are available. In the absence of manuscript by Sri Sidhendra Yogi much re-reprints are in circulation. Even though there are no difference in basic idea in all these scripts, the style of presentation is different from one another. Bhamakalapam presented by Saalabhanjika is the result of research by Saalabhanjika team and Cyber Crime Investigator Dr. Pattathil Dhanya Menon on 7 different scripts and also after detailed discussion and interactions with elderly Gurus in the field. The choreography of Bhamakalapam presented by Saalabhanjika is done by Pattathil Dhanya Menon with the advice and direction of Kalathapaswi Guru Ramavani Sundari.

Ardhanareeswaram

In the Hindu Iconography Ardhanareeswaram is depicted as half male and half female, evently down the middle upon a central axis. This hindu deity is Symbolizes the inseparability of feminine aspect of the divine, with the male principle of God. This is one of the very important form of God in Hindu worship. Hindus believe that the God is male, female and neuter too. Since God is conveptuallu beyond sex, though reffered as he/she many time, itis more appropriate to be reffered as it especially as its intrinsic condition as to many Hindu scriptures. This is an adaption from pagattivesha popular in Andra.

Gangagouri Vilasam

“Ganga Gouri Vilasam” choreographed by Dr. Veena Murty Vijay, us a Yaksha gana written by the prince and founder of banglore prince kempagaoudas and is in praise of Lord Someswara of Yasu temple. Ganga and Lord Shiva are in bliss and Gouri finds them and fight between Ganga and Gouri for Lord Shiva begins. At the end Lord Shiva interveals consoles and finds the truth between both his consoles. This is an interesting story with humor choreographed in kuchipudi and Bharathanaatam styles. This has been performed over 300 shows all over India and Abroad

Manga Vilasam

Manga Visalam is a dance drama performed in kuchipudi art form. In this we present the journey of Alamelu Manga concert of Lord Venkiteswara from her house which is away from the Lord it shows the union of her with Lord Venkiteswara. Songs are maily scripted by Annamacharya, who was a great devotee of Lord Venkiteswara. This is intervened with the vachika or the verbal rendering of abhinaya

Krishna Leela

This item is performed incorporating all 3 styles (Bharathanaatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi) with the very famous malayalam sandhyanamam “Karmukhil Varanante”. This item widely describes the Leelas of Lord Krishna from his childhood to adolescence or is performed as solo item in M ohiniyattam style.

Deshavatharam

Written by poet Jayadeva. This item is performed incorporating all 3 styles (Bharathanaatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi) discribing the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, or performed as solo item in Mohiniyattam style.

Jakkulapuranthari Sabhdham

This is a very old choreography by the dancer jakkulapuranathari. In this she calls herself the Jakkula Kantha- the beloved of the Lord. The dancer as a routine salutes the Lordess Sridevi as the omnipresent, the most beautiful and the most poweful. Then she proceeds to salute the King. Then she goes on to explain the Mohini avataram of Lord Mahavishnu. The purpose of the avataram and how Mohini managed to give amrutha to the Devas without sharing it with Assuras

Poojarini sabdham

Poojarini is also one such Sabdham the author of Poojarini is not known, though, we have made earnest effort to find out we could not trace the same. Unfortunately all the aspects are missing from this Sabdham “Poojarini”, the reason behind this is non documentation by our ancestors.

uloopi shabdham

This kuchipudi dance piece was practices in the court of king Vijayaraghava. This item shows the wedding story of the Snake Princess, Uloopi with Arjuna, who is the 3rd son among the pancha pandavas. Dr. C R Achaailu modified this script Uloo[i Sabdham the wife of Arjuna

Mandodari Sabdham

Narrates the story of how a frog (mandookam) transforms into a beautiful lady mandodari, in the beautiful ambience of the forest, Ravana the king of Lanka sees her and falls in love with her. Ravana takes her in his pushpaka vimana to Lanka.

Golla kalapam

Golla Kalaapam or Golla Naatakam was written in the Yaksha Gaana style. The text was performed by the touring Kuchupudi Bhagavathars as Vithi Bhagavathams, the street drama or discourses. It is believed that Sri Sidhendra Yogi banned women from participating in such performances; hence the tradition became male dominated. It is said that the well-trained and talented male performers could outlay any female performers on the stage

Gajangan

Gajangan, a story of a new character, translated into Dance-Drama and presented by Saalabhanjika and proved that through the creation of new character, consolation can be provided to the families havinf differently abled, physically and/or mentally challenged children.
