Preserving Culture, Inspiring Art
Saalabhanjika Studio for Arts and Performance is an institution specialized in imparting training in South Indian classical art forms to budding artists. Our main objective is to develop it into a world-class organization, extending training in both theory and practice of each branch of fine arts.
The primary objective is to enhance the quality of communication in the media related to histrionics and reintegrate learning and research to the presentation, performance, and application of dance.
Preservation, transformation, and transfer are three essential processes that maintain any stable culture. We need to begin from the past, move through the present with a clear vision into the future. It is our earnest passion and effort to prevent further loss and spread the importance of the subject.
Saalabhanjika Studio for Arts and Performance is a cultural and charitable trust based in Thrissur, Kerala. The institution was started on 30th August 2011 and has been established as a trust on 30th April 2013. Like-minded persons who are exponents of different art forms converged their ideas to begin this institution with high aspirations.
The vision of Saalabhanjika is to develop it into a world-class organization to research into the various art forms and to impart training in both theory and practice of each branch of fine arts.
Integration of updated technology in study, research, choreography, and presentation has been listed as an important task that has already been commenced. At present, training in theory and practice is extended to aspirants in Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, and Bharatanatyam—the three major South Indian classical dances.
The objective is to enhance the quality of communication in the media related to histrionics and to reintegrate learning and research to the presentation, performance, and application of dance.
The important aspect of this will be to conduct detailed research to revive classical dances, other art forms, and folk forms of the past which are almost fading away. Prevention of further loss and spreading the importance of such fading art forms as per our cultural heritage is our key goal.
